The Poltimore Arms, Yarde Down, Exmoor   http://www.diningpubs.co.uk/pub_details.asp?id=2411

Fantastic pub in lovely remote location on edge of Exmoor. No mains electricity, they don't take credit cards, but the food's superb - try the whitebait or Exmoor Red Ruby beef. Beer's pretty good too...
Squires Fish Restaurant   http://www.restaurant-guide.com/squires-fish-restaurant.htm

Legendary fish n chip restaurant in Braunton - eat in or take away, but be prepared to queue if you haven't booked during holiday season. Just the best fish n chips you will ever taste, with wafer thin beer batter and super fresh, perfectly cooked fish. That's it, I'm off there now...
